The Advisory Board for Black History Celebration is composed of respected professionals, educators, and innovators who provide strategic expertise, cultural insight, and community connections. This board ensures that every initiative honors heritage while driving forward-thinking dialogue and modern impact.

Advisory members act as thought partners, guiding the development of educational content, public engagement programs, and leadership initiatives that empower the next generation. Together, they ensure that Legacy in Motion continues to serve as a beacon for celebration, innovation, and unity.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a member of the Advisory Board, you will:

  • Provide Strategic Guidance: Offer insights into current social, educational, and cultural trends that inform program direction and relevance.
  • Advise on Program Development: Help design meaningful events, discussions, and learning opportunities that reflect the celebration’s mission.
  • Support Outreach and Engagement: Utilize your network to expand reach, build partnerships, and elevate community involvement.
  • Offer Expertise and Thought Leadership: Share knowledge and best practices from your field to strengthen educational and cultural programming.
  • Evaluate Impact: Review and provide feedback on outcomes to ensure ongoing improvement and growth.

Qualifications

We are seeking visionary individuals who are passionate about celebrating Black history and shaping the future through connection and leadership.

  • Professional Experience: Accomplishments in business, education, public policy, arts, or community leadership.

Time Commitment

Members are invited to attend four quarterly advisory meetings per year and participate in special projects or events, such as educational panels and leadership roundtables. Meetings can be attended virtually or in person, and flexibility is built into all participation expectations.
